Booking Form
Please read the below key information before booking your item. Then, book an item for repair at the March 25 event via this form.
Key Information for the March 25 Event
Repair Cafes are community events that match people who need stuff fixed with people who like fixing things.
This is a free event to which you can bring along your broken item. Our volunteer repairers will assess and then attempt to repair the item. If repair is not possible then they may be able to offer advice on where you can take the item for further assessment. There are no promises and no guarantees, but if something can be saved the repairers will give it their best efforts.
One key principle of a Repair Café is that you sit with the repairer whilst they attempt the repair. You can learn more about your broken item and the repair process.
Refreshments will be available.
We welcome the following items for repair:
- Electrical and mechanical items such as clocks, toasters, blenders, kettles, lamps, CD players, coffee machines, headphones
- Sewing machines
- Textiles/Clothing for sewing repair
- Jewellery
- Bicycles
- Broken items such as pottery or picture frames that can be glued (need to be in a repairable state so not in smithereens)
- Sharpening (e.g. hand/kitchen/garden tools)
- Woodwork
We cannot accept large appliances, microwaves, televisions, computer equipment and mobile phones.
Please provide as much detail as possible about the fault. Items will be allocated to a repairer and you will receive a time slot to bring your item to the Café.
You can turn up on the day, but bookings will take priority and you may have to wait or there may not be a time to have your item seen by a repairer. We politely request only one item per person, but if we have time and you can wait as necessary then we may be able to have a second item seen by a repairer.

We look forward to seeing you!

Previous Events
Our first Repair Cafe was held in December 2019 and, having been delayed by the pandemic, we returned to hold our second event in July 2022. We were delighted to be back!

Can you volunteer as a repairer?
Cambourne Repair Cafe is looking for volunteer repairers to help out at future Repair Cafe’s. We are looking for people with the relevant skills and experience to be comfortable attempting to repair electrical, electronic, and mechanical items (e.g. clocks, toasters, blenders, kettles, lamps, coffee machines, headphones, sewing machine and toys), bicycles, clothing (sewing) and potentially computers and furniture. The events are run by volunteers and usually last for 3 hours, with up to 4 items per repairer and free cakes and drinks on offer. Repair Cafe’s are non-commercial and there are no guarantees that an item can be repaired. The basic principle is to match people who have broken items with people who like fixing things!
Cambourne is part of a growing Cambridgeshire Repair Cafe Network. More details are available here.
If you are interested in volunteering as a repairer, or just helping out with the organisation and running of future events, please email cambournerepaircafe@gmail.com.
Thank you
Cllr Greg Thompson
