Cambourne Repair Cafe 25 March 2023

Cambourne hosted its third Repair Café on Saturday, March 25 as part of Cambourne Village College’s first Eco Festival.

An overview and pictures from the event can be viewed on our Town Council Facebook post here.

Next Events

The next Cambourne Repair Cafe’s are currently scheduled for Saturday, July 08 and then Saturday, December 02. Both events will be at the Hub.

Previous Events

Our first Repair Cafe was held in December 2019 and, having been delayed by the pandemic, we returned to hold our second event in July 2022. We were delighted to be back!

A reminder of our December 2019 event can be viewed here.

Can you volunteer as a repairer?

Cambourne Repair Cafe is looking for volunteer repairers to help out at future Repair Cafe’s. We are looking for people with the relevant skills and experience to be comfortable attempting to repair electrical, electronic, and mechanical items (e.g. clocks, toasters, blenders, kettles, lamps, coffee machines, headphones, sewing machine and toys), bicycles, clothing (sewing) and potentially computers and furniture. The events are run by volunteers and usually last for 3 hours, with up to 4 items per repairer and free cakes and drinks on offer. Repair Cafe’s are non-commercial and there are no guarantees that an item can be repaired. The basic principle is to match people who have broken items with people who like fixing things!

Cambourne is part of a growing Cambridgeshire Repair Cafe Network. More details are available here.

If you are interested in volunteering as a repairer, or just helping out with the organisation and running of future events, please email cambournerepaircafe@gmail.com.

Thank you
